Alumni Night – September

Alumni Night is an opportunity for current students, industry mentors, and Haskayne alumni of the Management Sciences. This an informal event with networking and refreshments.

Business Technology Management (BTMA) Industry Night – November

Last year’s panel was a great success, and this year promises to be even better!  Business Technology Management, formerly referred to as Management Information Systems, is a growing concentration.  Attendees will listen to panelists engage in discussion about the latest technology and its role in the business world.

Students on this tour will get an inside look at how supply chain management affects business operations. 

Operations Management (OPMA) Industry Night – February

With the success of BTMA Industry Night in 2014, AMIO is looking to create a similar discussion panel event for OPMA Industry Night.  This will give OPMA students a diverse look at the industry - including topics such as management consulting, project management, and quality control.

Networking Night – March

This is AMIO’s flagship event.  The evening consists of a formal dinner, speakers, and networking among students, industry professionals, and faculty members.  Past events have been held at Saltlik and The Belvedere in downtown Calgary.

SCOPE Conference and Case Competition

For over 25 years, the annual Student Conference on Operations (SCOPE) conference and competition brings together top graduate and undergraduate students in Western Canada to present their solutions for operations and supply chain management problems that they tackled while working with real world clients.  A panel of academic and industry judges asks questions and evaluates presentations, awarding the Silver Cup for best overall presentation. Organizations that have hosted projects in recent years include WestJet Airlines, Alberta Health Services, Southland Bus Transportation, Calgary Interfaith Foodbank, Gienow Windows and Doors, and the Calgary Airport Authority.
